10 Things You Should Know

10 Things you should know before having your vehicle repaired

  1. Never drive a vehicle that could be considered unsafe after an accident. If necessary, have the vehicle towed to a repair facility, or even to your home.
  2. Insurance companies cannot require or force you to have your vehicle repaired at a specific facility. The choice is yours.
  3. Choose a repair facility that is licensed with the State. The facility will have the proper licenses displayed, including license number visible for inspection.
  4. There is no law that you must get multiple estimates.
  5. Insurance companies do not repair vehicles. Insurance companies do not warranty repairs. Choose a repair facility that will warranty their work. Soja’s Autobody will warranty our work for as long as you own your vehicle.
  6. Each repair facility may have different ways to do an estimate. Estimates may vary greatly between facilities. A less expensive estimate might not include all the repairs necessary to do a proper repair. If there is a discrepancy in the estimate and repair cost, possibly from hidden damage, we at Soja’s will work with your insurance company to create a supplement.
  7. Let the repair facility negotiate with the insurance company. There are proper ways to complete a repair to meet the OEM (Vehicle manufacturer) standards. Soja’s Autobody will follow these guidelines and settle with the insurance company to make sure the proper repair and proper parts are covered.
  8. The repair facility, especially Soja’s Auto body Services works for our customers. The vehicle owner is our customer, not the insurance company. Pick a repair facility that will put you first. While we work with all insurances, we will be advocates and act as a liaison with insurance adjusters, making your repair as easy as possible.
  9. In most transactions, consumers are accustomed to making decisions based on price. In the collision repair industry, even though it may appear that all things are equal there can be noticeably big differences. Improper repair methods can be extremely dangerous and end up costing more.
  10. Vehicles are expensive, sometimes an exceptionally large investment. Pick a repair facility that will work towards quality repairs that preserves the value of what could be your second largest investment.
